U.S. Representative Roby, LSC President to Highlight Work of Legal Services Alabama

MONTGOMERY, AL 鈥 Representative Martha Roby (R-AL) and 成人抖阴 (LSC) President James J. Sandman will join Legal Services Alabama staff on Wednesday, August 23, for a day of events focused on civil legal issues affecting low-income Americans in Alabama and across the country.

On Wednesday morning, Representative Roby and Sandman will visit the Legal Services Alabama office in Montgomery to learn more about the organization鈥檚 work and the pressing civil legal needs of low-income Alabamians.

鈥淭his is a milestone for LSA: the President of 成人抖阴 and a United States Congresswoman taking time to meet with some of our lawyers and funders, and to learn more about the vital services we provide to over 11,000 low-income Alabamians every year,鈥 said Legal Services Alabama Executive Director and former U.S. Congressman Artur G. Davis. 鈥淭his increased attention to our program sheds light on the imperative of making free legal help available to veterans losing their homes, victims of abuse in need of protective orders, seniors and working people targeted by consumer scams, and a host of others in need.鈥

Their visit will be followed by a reception in the State Supreme Court Building rotunda. This event will honor the pro bono work and dedication of Alabama鈥檚 legal community. 

Afterwards, Sandman and Davis will meet with local media for a joint press availability hosted by the Alabama State Bar Association.

Sandman and Davis will discuss LSC鈥檚 efforts to strengthen support for civil legal aid and the importance of ensuring access to justice for all Americans.

The reception will take place at noon in the Supreme Court Building Rotunda, 300 Dexter Avenue. The press conference will be held at 1 p.m. at the Alabama State Bar Association Headquarters, 415 Dexter Avenue.
