President Intends to Nominate Six Members to LSC's Board of Directors
WASHINGTON 鈥 President Trump announced yesterday his intention to nominate six people to the Board of Directors of the 成人抖阴 (LSC).
The six nominees are Robert J. Grey Jr. of Virginia, Abigail L. Kuzma of Indiana, John G. Levi of Illinois, John G. Malcolm of the District of Columbia, Frank X. Neuner Jr. of Louisiana, and Gloria Valencia-Weber of New Mexico. LSC is headed by an eleven-member board appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. By law, the board is bipartisan; no more than six of the eleven members may be of the same political party.
鈥淲e look forward to welcoming new board members and working with them as LSC continues the mission it has pursued for more than 40 years under presidents of both parties鈥攎aking justice accessible to people who cannot afford to pay for legal representation in civil matters,鈥 said LSC President James J. Sandman.
Robert J. Grey Jr, Senior Counsel-Retired with Hunton & Williams, currently serves on LSC鈥檚 board.
Abigail L. Kuzma currently serves as a non-director member of LSC鈥檚 Governance and Performance Review and Delivery of Legal Services Committees. She founded and served as Executive Director of Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic in Indianapolis for 15 years.
John G. Levi, the current Chairman of LSC鈥檚 board, is a partner in Sidley Austin鈥檚 Chicago office.
John G. Malcolm is Vice President for the Institute for Constitutional Government and Director of the Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Heritage Foundation.
Frank X. Neuner Jr. is a founder and managing partner of NeunerPate in Lafayette, Louisiana. He previously served as Chair of the Louisiana Public Defender Board and is a Past President of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
Gloria Valencia-Weber is Emeritus Professor of Law at the University of New Mexico School of Law and currently serves on LSC鈥檚 board.
