Melissa Friedman is the Director of Child Welfare Training at The Legal Aid Society's Juvenile Rights Practice in New York. She joined the Juvenile Rights Practice as a Skadden Fellow working on child welfare cases following her graduation from Harvard Law School. After her fellowship, Melissa represented children in juvenile delinquency cases while continuing her child welfare work. Melissa then joined the law firm WilmerHale as a Senior Associate before transitioning to her current position. In her current role, she focuses on legal strategy and handles child welfare staff training. She also works extensively with the New York City Bar Association, where she previously chaired the Children and the Law Committee.
Daniella Rohr is a staff attorney at The Legal Aid Society’s Immigrant Youth Project and was previously a staff attorney at the Juvenile Rights Practice. She joined the Juvenile Rights Practice as a Skadden Fellow following her graduation from Yale Law School. Daniella represented youth in child welfare cases for seven years, before joining the immigration team where she now represents immigrant youth in Immigration Court, Family Court, and before US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
